
MAINTENANCE DREDGING OF THE UNION RIVER, ELLSWORTH, ME
During the winters of 2000/2001 and 2001/2002 Burnham Associates performed "maintenance" dredging on the Union River in Ellsworth ME.
Dredge Samson and scow 743 digging in the ice on the lower reaches of the Union River. This portion of the project was mostly saw dust from long gone lumber mills upriver.
Dredge Samson upstream in the Union River. One of the major perils of this project was the river itself. Quick running, very narrow and the rocky composition of the rivers bed and banks made it completely unforgiving..
